For fixed awnings rollup awnings and retractable awnings made of canvas or outdoor fabrics use a mild laundry detergent and lukewarm water.

To clean metal awnings use a metal cleaning solvent and water. Two ounces one fourth cup of natural soap. If your awnings are made of aluminum use a solvent especially created for it. This detergent is especially effective if you decide to wash the awning fabric in a washing machine.

Depending on your awning material you will need to use different cleaning solutions. Once the awning is dried you can leave it alone until the next cleaning. Then leave the awning open and spread out to let it air dry completely. If stubborn stains persist you can use a diluted chlorine bleach soap mixture for spot cleaning of mildew roof run off and other similar stains.

Htd heavy duty detergent is strong enough to remove those tough stains yet mild enough to use on a wide arrange of fabrics. You can also use a vinyl or fabric cleaner if you wish. Once that happens the awning s appearance and structural integrity become a problem cleaning your awning regularly will minimize these risks and give your awning a longer life. Dip the clean cloth into the cleaning solution and spread the cleaner all over the awning.

Add 3 ounces of a mild laundry soap such as the kind used for baby clothes or delicate washables per gallon of water. Hang the awning out to air dry and leave it until the next cleaning.
